At the general meeting of the post SV bamberg, karate department head werner sadlauskas was awarded honorary membership of the club for his services to the club and karate. The 68-year-old is still active as an exercise instructor and was able to defend his title as german champion in the u65 age group only last year.
Previously, chairman werner thiele reported on a rather quiet year for the post SV. The storm damage to the fence of the tennis facility was professionally repaired or. A new fence was erected. The highlight of the past year was the visit of the second mayor christian lange to a committee meeting. A questionnaire sent to him in advance was answered to everyone’s satisfaction and upcoming new tasks were discussed in detail.
During the two scheduled work services on the club grounds, many small and coarse jobs could again be done together. But also the visit of events, as for example of the city association for sport or also the volleyball community bamberg, belong to the "duties" of the chairman.
From a sporting point of view, the karate and judo departments are currently the club’s notice boards. They represent the post SV bamberg at the highest level and in all age groups, partly in international competitions. But also non-competitive activities, such as ball school or parent-child gymnastics, are very popular.

Financial officer wolfgang friedel was able to report a healthy financial basis for the association. By a constant member existence one has stable incomes from membership dues. However, he was concerned about the age structure of the membership, as there was a lack of young people in all areas and departments, especially in the 0 to 18 age group.
By the energetic reorganization of the heating and hot water plant the energy costs could be reduced by more than the half and thus reserves could be formed for next pending coarser repairs at buildings and guesses.
At the end of the meeting many members could be honored for their longtime loyalty to the club, first of all georg dotterweich for 60 years of loyalty. A total of 19 jubilarians were honored for their 50 years of membership, including seven members of the judo family greiner, who were honored by the honorary president of the BJV, gerhard fleibner, who was also present. Further six persons could be honored for 40 years. Another novelty on this evening was the honor for 25 years of club membership, where a complete football team could be honored, which changed to the post SV in 1995 and still kicks as AH team today.
