FC geesdorf left on 10. The team started its preparations for its second landesliga season on june 10 and crowned its first week of training with a 1-0 home win over TSV karlburg, a team promoted to the bavarian league. "After the many defeats in the ruckrunde, this positive experience was very important. You could also see that after the final whistle. In general, the first week was very promising," said the new FC coach jannik feidel, who is only 23 years old and played in the center himself in the first duel.
The golden goal was scored by vincent held three minutes before the end after a nice individual action. For him, too, it was his first appearance in the geesdorf jersey. The striker comes from the district league champion SSV kitzingen and was most recently the top scorer with 27 goals. From the siedler comes also luca fischer, who is still injured and therefore against the karlburger only a half time could play. Tresor mbala joined feidel from the wurzburger kickers U 23 team and performed his duties as a right-back in the first test match.
In addition, goalkeeper rene rottendorf from DJK stadelschwarzach joins the squad. He scored a whopping 41 goals in the previous season in the district class. In the last round, rottendorf was also the most successful goal scorer for the last-place team with eleven goals. However, he recently had to undergo arm surgery – and will therefore not be available for the FC until the middle of the preliminary round. "We are close to signing two more players," reports feidel.
And after the withdrawal of the U 23 red pants, something could be done in this direction as well. Last year’s kickers-co-coach confirms: "there are of course interesting options there. But it has to fit into our framework." Six players have left FC geesdorf meanwhile: carmine de biasi, mohamed rmeithi and fazdel tahir followed ex-coach hassan rmeithi to FSG wiesentheid. Karl ekollo joined bavarian league team TSV abtswind – and sinan bilgin went to league rival TSV kleinrinderfeld. "The second season will certainly be harder than the first without the promotion euphoria," says feidel. "But i could sense a real sense of optimism in the first week of training. We want to keep this league as long as possible."
Actually, the preparation program would have continued on saturday with a test match against the U 23 of the kickers. "It was clear that the first thing I would do would be to arrange a duel with rainer zietsch. Unfortunately, this will no longer be the case. But we have found a good replacement," emphasizes feidel. This friday evening, his team will play against bavarian league team ATSV erlangen. Test matches against vfl volkach follow (30. June), the U 19 of wurzburger FV (3. July) and TSV bergrheinfeld (5. July).
Saturday, 6. July, it becomes serious: in the qualification for the toto cup, which is held for the first time as a lightning tournament for the national league players at their own request, it goes for geesdorf starting from 14.45 o’clock in lengfeld 30 minutes each against spvgg jahn forchheim, baiersdorfer SV and the host TSV. "I’m curious to see how seriously the clubs take this new mode," says feidel. The new season starts a week later with 34 games for each team. The geesdorf team will have to play the 13. July, at the SV friesen.
