My tips!
- Scrub your lips before applying lippy! Dry and flakey skin really shows up under red.
- Apply foundation over the lips as a base.
- Try a coloured lip balm or gloss for a more wearable red for day time
- Apply your red lipstick before any other make up, this way you can see how much you need on the eyes and cheeks to balance out the face.
- Add a lipliner for a more polished look for night and to create a barrier so lipstick doesn’t bleed into fine lines.
- Create guides by marking the cupids bow and then connecting the dots with short strokes, to correct the lip line. Fill in the lips with lipliner as a base
- When using a creamy lipstick, a liquid lip or gloss, start from the middle of the lips and work your way to the lipliner. This way there is not too much product on the outer area with more chance of bleeding.
- Place a tissue over the lips to blot, and powder with a brush and translucent powder. Reapply lipstick to make it last all night long.
- Run a finger over your lips to evenly distribute the lippy.
- Clean up the edges with a brush and concealer!
I hope you enjoyed!
Til next time,

Great tips Barbe!
I think the tissue paper and powder tip is my favorite – I find it really does work to keep my lipstick on for longer! Love that sparkly sequined black top with the red lip… such a great look for night time! 🙂
