Last week I found some great Spring fashion from Country Road at Westfield Miranda.This week it is Katies turn!
Iconic Katies is celebrating 60 years of style this year and has had a brand and logo rejuvenation. I have bought some great pieces over the last couple of years and I found some more that are on trend and fresh at the Westfield Miranda store, for the coming Spring/Summer season.
What can you expect when you walk into Katies? Soft fresh blue colours, nautical inspired pieces, beautiful khakis and tan, and stripes, lots of stripes.
I picked out 2 trends that are big this coming season: White Jeans and Bomber Jackets. When it comes to white jeans, I am not going to lie, this is not a favourite look of mine. I have short legs, thick thighs and tight white jeans are just not that flattering on me. But, I decided to purchase a pair, to show you how I manage to make them work for me three ways!
White Jeans
I purchased the Slim Ultimate Jean in white for $49.95.
These have a lot of elastic and are more like jeggings than jeans. They have a very wide waistband to hold in your tummy, and are an easy pull up type pant. I found them a little plain for my liking so I distressed them with some scissors and a cheese grater!
- The only way these jeans will work for me is if I wear it with a top that covers the top of my thighs.
- Leave a little skin on show when wearing white runners with the jeans, either roll them up or fold them under.
- I went for a size smaller than I wear normally.
- White jeans are great for layering, try wearing them with a long sleeved shirt wrapped around your waist.
- Katies has the most incredible, comfortable range of denim, including jackets! Check them out.
- Don’t be afraid to wear a flirty dress over your jeans, the look is very cute.
Bomber Jackets
The bomber jacket will take us from puffer jackets in Winter into the Summer Days with a lightweight version.
A bomber jacket, or a cropped jacket is the perfect layering piece. The khaki cropped jacket looks fab with my white jeans, and the jacket on the right is a white, broderie Anglaise jacket, which I think will come home with me very, very soon! Katies also do a black lightweight bomber jacket: More like a shirt, than a jacket. The floral is already one of my favourites, which I wear with chambray and grey.

A jean and white tee are still my go to fashion pieces. I own a loafer but I barely wear it, so is sunglasses. Sunglasses make me feel like I have a very strange body on my nose. When the sun gets really harsh, I rather opt for a face cap or sun hat.
You did pull the look off so nicely.
